About the center

The Swine Research & Education Center handles the full life cycle of pigs — from breeding and gestation to farrowing, lactation, weaning, growing and finishing.

As part of the Department of Animal Sciences, the facility offers high-impact educational experiences to students while supporting research trials in various areas of swine production, including growth, meat quality measurement, and management practices. Together, these efforts support broader outreach to the swine industry through applied research and demonstrations.
