Auburn University Shellfish Lab Team

Dr. Andrea M. Tarnecki is an Assistant Extension Professor in Production Aquaculture at Auburn University, based at the Auburn University Shellfish Laboratory. Her work focuses on oyster aquaculture, microbial ecology, and seafood safety, with an emphasis on translating applied research into practical solutions for Gulf Coast producers. She collaborates closely with industry, agencies, and students to support sustainable shellfish production, workforce development, and coastal resilience.

I have over 15 years experience in digital marketing. In my current position, I serve as the social media and web content manager for Auburn Agriculture and the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station, which includes working with other programs and units on curating content and developing strategies to promote the the department and overall Auburn brand.I also serve as the digital editor for The Season Magazine and manage our interns.
