About the center

The 80-acre Auburn University Equestrian Center provides space for undergraduate courses, demonstrations and laboratories as well as for premier equine research and training within the Department of Animal Sciences.

Center information

The Auburn University Equestrian Center, home of the Auburn equestrian team, provides premier equine research and training. Faculty and graduate students conduct research in the areas of horse behavior and nutrition.

There are multiple spacious pastures with centaur fencing and run-in shelters. The facility offers four arenas for practices and competition: Carroll Arena, Covered Arena, Flat Arena and Schooling Arena.

Conveniently located on the edge of the university campus and across from the College of Veterinarian Medicine, the Auburn Equestrian Center is easily accessible for students, faculty and staff. The location is a five-minute drive for most students, and a Tiger Transit stop is located across the street.

Tours are available by appointment only.

Please email Lisa Dorsey, Director of Equestrian Center at lmh0012@auburn.edu to schedule a tour.

Horse donations
The Horse Center does accept the donation of quality riding horses from time to time. Many of our horses had previous careers on the AQHA, APHA, NRHA, USEF, USHJA or USDF competition circuits. Horses must be suitable for use by the Equestrian Team, competing in reining, horsemanship, hunt seat equitation on the flat, and/or equitation over fences. All horses for donation are subject to veterinary evaluation and a trial period.

Contact Lisa Dorsey to begin the donation process.
