		The
Georgia Geological Society visit the Georgia Blue Ridge for the 2007
Annual Field Trip on October 12-14.The trip, entitled: Tectonics of the Georgia Blue Ridge:
basement/cover rift architecture, important aspects of overlying drift
and clastic wedge facies, and the westernmost accretionary terrane.
The field trip was lead by Jim Tull and Chris Holm- Florida State

Dr. M. Zeki Billor recently joined
ANIMAL  as a Research Fellow. Zeki, who completed a
PhD dissertation on the geochemistry of chromite deposits at
Çukurova University, Turkey, has been a visiting scientist in the
department since 2005. In his new appointment, Zeki’s main
role will be to support the research activities of the Auburn Noble
Isotope Mass Analysis Laboratory and conduct independent research in
			geochemistry and geochronology.
