- Is there a minimum GPA to be eligible to apply to the CASE-REU?
No, we consider each applicant holistically. - How many students are supported for the CASE-REU?
We typically support 10-12 students per/summer. - I am a first-year student (freshman). Am I eligible for the CASE REU?
Yes, we encourage first-year students to apply. - If I haven’t previously had any research experience who should write my letters of recommendation?
Your recommendation letters should come from someone who is familiar with you academically or has knowledge of your research interest. This could be a professor/instructor, advisor, mentor, etc. - When will I hear about a decision on my application?
The application closes on February 9th and we will notify students of their acceptance by mid-March. - If I graduate in the spring am I eligible to participate in the CASE REU?
No, the NSF stipulates that all REU participants must be current undergraduate students. - Can I still participate in the program if I am unable to begin on the specified start date?
Yes, we prefer for all students to start on the same day however we have made exceptions for students that were still in school or had prior engagements. - Where will I live for the Summer?
All REU participants will be provided on-campus housing for the duration of the program. - I didn’t receive an email confirmation after I submitted my application. How do I know you received my application?
