Emily Roarty

  • Job profile and responsibilities- Associate Vice President, Strategy and Impact. In this role, I oversee a $100M portfolio of internal research programs at MD Anderson Cancer Center. I work closely with the Chief Scientific Officer to develop, operationalize, and manage team-based research programs within the institution and with high profile sponsors and donors.
  • Education:
    • PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham
    • BS in Molecular Biology from Auburn University
  • Expertise/Prior Experience-For a decade, I worked as a lab program manager and later as a Director of Research, where I developed and oversaw a $30M research portfolio that included government and foundation grants, clinical and translational industry alliances, and philanthropic programs.

    • Division of Cancer Medicine, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Exemplary Employee Award, 2015;
    • Rexanna’s Foundation for Fighting Lung Cancer Hope Award, 2016;
    • Becker’s Hospital Reviews, Under 40 Rising Star in Healthcare, 2019.
