Accessibility
Auburn University has adopted an accessibility policy that requires your syllabus be accessible to users with visual or physical limitations. The system will only upload word documents. Before uploading your word document, you should check if it meets accessibility standards. Refer to the below instructions for using the Accessibility Checker depending on your operating system.
- Windows
Click on the File tab. Choose the Info section and look for the Inspect Document icon. You will click the icon and choose Check Accessibility. This will identify any issues with your document that you will n eed to correct. Once corrected, you can upload the syllabus.
- Mac
Accessibility Checker on the Mac is only available in Office 2016 and is located under the Review tab. If you use a Mac but do not have Office 2016, please email ets@auburn.edu to request an appointment to update your software.
For assistance with accessibility issues, please email ets@auburn.edu to send your request.
Directions for Uploading Syllabus
- On the "UPLOAD SYLLABUS" page, select a semester and then click "VIEW SYLLABI" to view the list of courses for the semester.
Note: If the column "Current Syllabus" column shows 'Not on file', that means you have yet to upload a syllabus for that course. If the "Current Syllabus" column shows a file name, that means a syllabus has already been uploaded for that course. You may click the filename to view the syllabus. Uploading another file will overwrite the existing file, and is a convenient way of having your latest syllabus online.
- Please click on the uploading syllabus button that corresponds to the course for which you wish to upload a new syllabus.
- In the syllabus uploading window that opens, choose the syllabus file for the course you have selected. Files are required to meet accessibility standards.
- Click the UPLOAD SYLLABUS button to complete the upload process.
- The list of window now shows the latest syllabus file you have uploaded.
