GEAR UP Achieve serves a cohort of nearly 6,500 high school students in 54 schools in 28 counties across Alabama. Schools selected for the GEAR UP Achieve cohort were chosen based on the population of students eligible for free and reduced lunch, performance on statewide tests, and past experience with GEAR UP programs. These schools represent urban, suburban and rural communities across Alabama.
