Seven New Members Inducted to Global Teaching Academy

The Office of International Programs selected the 2016 inductees to the Global Teaching Academy, an on-campus organization dedicated to recognizing and encouraging exceptional teaching in an international context. This year’s class includes:

  • Salman Azhar, associate professor of Building Science
  • Craig Bertolet, professor of English
  • William Buskist, Distinguished Professor in the Teaching of Psychology
  • Adrienne Duke, assistant professor of Human Development & Family Studies
  • Jung Won Hur, associate professor in Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Technology
  • Tarik Orgen, professor of Architecture
  • Giovanna Summerfield, professor & Associate Dean of Educational Affairs

The Global Teaching Academy will facilitate international course offerings on campus, complementing the recent growth of study abroad courses and exchange programs. The Academy will also assist in creating an International certificate program. Members were also inducted into the Phi Beta Delta Honorary Society for International Scholars.
