College of Education - Kinesiology Majors

The School of Kinesiology looks forward to advising you this summer and assisting you with registering for your fall schedule. The information below will guide you through what to expect.

Freshman Academic Advising

The academic advising components below will prepare you to register for your fall schedule. All required components must be completed by June 25 to be cleared to register.

  • Canvas Module

    • Available online in Canvas beginning May 5

    • Takes approximately 45 minutes to complete

    • Please work through the modules to help you prepare for your appointments.

  • Attend Welcome Session (Parents are encouraged/welcome to attend)

    • The Welcome sessions will give you a chance to meet the KINE Advisors, Administrators and current students. We will talk briefly about each of our majors, and help you confirm that you've chosen the correct major. We will review next steps in the CWE orientation process and direct you to what comes next so you are prepared and ready to go. Additionally, we will give directions on preparing for your individual advising appointment with your advisor.

  • Individual Advising Appointment

    • May 17 through June 25

    • 30 min appointment

    • You will receive an email requesting that you sign up for your advising appointment through our campaigns once you have completed the appropriate canvas modules and Academic History survey via canvas

  • Join Kinesiology Themed First Year Experience/LC

    • Courses selected by KINE advisors for entering freshmen

    • Advisors can assist in determining which courses to keep/drop from the LC

    • Advisors will also preregister KINE students enrolled in the KINE TFYE/LC into KINE courses, possibly giving them a full schedule prior to registration

    • Any KINE major can enroll in any of the KINE TFYE/LC cohorts no matter their interests

  • Invite parents to attend a Parents Session

    • Parents only need to attend ONE session!

    • Zoom link for these sessions

    • Students, please share these dates/times/link with your parents so they can choose ONE date to join. This session is for Parents / Guardians only! This is a time for parents to meet with advisors and KINE administrators for a Q & A session. Parents, we'll talk a little more about your student's transition to college and how you can help guide them to success. Students, please hold your questions and join us for the Registration Help session associated with YOUR time ticket.
