We are so excited you will be joining us in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering as a future engineering student! To help our freshman get ready for fall registration, we have optional in person and virtual events in addition to mandatory advising components. All of these events and experiences are designed to help you make the most of your time with your advisor and get you ready for your first semester at Auburn University!
Freshman Academic Advising
The academic advising components below will prepare you to register for your fall schedule. All required components must be completed by June 25 to be cleared to register.

Takes approximately 30 minutes to complete
The Academic History Survey must be completed one day prior to your schedule advising appointment.
“What’s Next” Virtual Information Session (optional)
Dr. Janet Moore, Assistant Dean in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, will give parents and students a detailed look at what to expect from advising and registration this summer. Students will learn about the critical steps they need to take to get prepared for advising.

Welcome to Campus In-Person Event (optional).
The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering would like to welcome parents and students to campus while providing information about advising and student services offered through the college. These IN-PERSON information sessions will be held in the new Brown-Kopel Engineering Student Achievement Center and will include a time to “meet & greet” pre-engineering advisors, student services staff, and representatives from various student organizations.
It is recommended that you choose a date the day before or after your on-campus Camp War Eagle session.

Academic Advising will be conducted via Zoom from May 17th – June 25th
Engineering students who already qualify to take MATH 1610 will receive an email invitation to schedule a 1:1 advising appointment on May 12th.
Engineering students who do not currently qualify to take MATH 1610 their first semester are encouraged to take the Auburn University math placement test (ALEKS)* prior to making an advising appointment. These students will receive an invitation to schedule a 1:1 advising appointment on May 26th.
