As Auburn University's Accreditation Liaison, Dr. Mark DeGoti oversees the institution's accreditation processes, serving as the primary contact with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). His responsibilities include managing the SACSCOC reaffirmation efforts, coordinating faculty qualifications, and ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements.
Since joining the Office of the Provost in 2021, DeGoti is also responsible for specialized accreditation documentation and reviews, coordinating all curricular activity with the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, and overseeing administrator review processes. He also provides leadership for Auburn’s academic integrity process, which is dedicated to cultivating a community where trust and ethical behavior are the pillars of academic success.
In addition to his administrative appointment, DeGoti is a professor in the Department of Music. He has performed in orchestras and as a soloist on five different continents and has enjoyed years of student success in the trumpet studio. DeGoti received a Doctor of Music and a Master of Music at Indiana University, and he holds a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance and Music Theory from the University of Michigan. He lives in Auburn with his wife and two children.
With over 25 years of experience working at Auburn, Tammy Mayo currently serves as the administrator for academic affairs in the Office of Academic Effectiveness. Mayo first joined the Provost’s Office in 2005 as an administrative support specialist and later served as the executive assistant to the provost for six years before becoming the assistant to the president in 2017. As an administrator for academic affairs, Mayo is responsible for administrating the Student Academic Integrity Policy, coordinating the administrative review process, and supporting the University’s curriculum processes. Mayo is a 2013 Auburn graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. She lives in Auburn with her husband and two sons.
