General Information
All Auburn University students, faculty, and staff have the responsibility to help enforce the Academic Integrity Policy.
A charged student has the right to be considered innocent until proven guilty with the burden of proof being clear and convincing evidence presented by the charging party.
A charged student accused of academic misconduct, whether acknowledging involvement or not, shall be allowed to continue in the course without prejudice pending action by the Committee.
A charged student has the right to be informed of an allegation of academic dishonesty prior to a report being submitted.
A charged student has the right to request or agree to have a meeting with the charging party (Faculty-Led Meeting) to discuss and potentially resolve an alleged violation of the Academic Honesty Code.
A charged student has the right to request or agree to a Facilitated Meeting if no resolution has been made in the Faculty-Led Meeting.
A charged student has the right to an Academic Integrity Hearing for any charge of academic dishonesty.
For a Faculty-Led Meeting or Facilitated Meeting to occur, both the charging party and the charged student must consent to participate.
For a Faculty-Led Meeting or Facilitated Meeting to occur, a charged student cannot have a prior violation of the Academic Integrity Policy.
The charging party must notify a charged student to request a Faculty-Led meeting.
If a resolution is made in a Faculty-Led meeting, the charging party must notify a charged student that a Faculty-Led Report has been submitted to the Office of the Provost.
The charging party must only recommend the following sanctions in a Faculty-Led Report:
Academic Integrity Course
Redo or Resubmit - Assignment or Examination
Reduced Grade - Assignment or Examination
Zero Grade - Assignment or Examination
Reduced Grade - Course
The charging party must notify a charged student of an allegation of academic dishonesty prior to a report being submitted.
The charging party must only recommend the following sanctions:
Academic Integrity Course
Redo or Resubmit - Assignment or Examination
Reduced Grade - Assignment or Examination
Zero Grade - Assignment or Examination
Reduced Grade - Course
Grade of F - Course
The charging party must notify a charged student of an allegation of academic dishonesty prior to a report being submitted.
The charging party can recommend the following sanctions:
Academic Integrity Course
Redo or Resubmit - Assignment or Examination
Reduced Grade - Assignment or Examination
Zero Grade - Assignment or Examination
Reduced Grade - Course
Grade of F - Course
Transcript Notation
Suspension
Expulsion
