Angela Wiley - Bio

As the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness, Dr. Angela Wiley works closely with campus units to develop data-informed strategies and coordinate enterprise information systems, enhancing outcomes knowledge, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. In addition to overseeing the Offices of Academic Insight, Institutional Research, and Information Technology and the university’s liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, Dr. Wiley is also responsible for the university’s academic program review and data governance processes. Working together, these units support the institution’s primary initiatives related to accreditation, assessment, and other data management outcomes.
Before serving in the Provost’s Office, Dr. Wiley was a professor and head of the Department of Human Development and Family Science within the College of Human Sciences. In that role, Dr. Wiley led the unit through multiple national academic and early learning center accreditations.
Before joining Auburn, Dr. Wiley spent 22 years at the University of Illinois, where she developed a strong foundation in research, teaching, and extension. Her scholarly work focuses on family resilience, health disparities in Hispanic communities, and program development and evaluation. She has co-directed major federally funded projects, including the USDA-supported “Abriendo Caminos” initiative to improve the health of Hispanic children and families.
Dr. Wiley holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Developmental Psychology from Clark University and earned her B.A. in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Miami University in Ohio.
