Leadership Team

Catherine Small began working in Instructional Design at Auburn Online in January of 2020. As an instructional designer, she works closely with Auburn University faculty and instructors in implementing best practices to create engaging and interactive online courses.

For over a decade, Catherine taught English as a second language. She was an assistant professor at Chung Ang University in Seoul, South Korea and an instructor at Auburn Global at Auburn University. Her teaching philosophy is one of inclusion that engages an array of learners and learning styles. Influenced by her somewhat untraditional educational journey, her instructional style is both active and interactive.

Catherine holds an MA in Intercultural Studies and BAs in English and German. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, hiking, and spending time with her family.
