Megan-Brette Hamilton is a certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) and an assistant professor in the department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Auburn University. She received her B.A. from Hampton University, her M.A. from the University of Maryland, and her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 2016–all in the area of communication sciences and disorders. Her research focuses on the cultural-linguistic aspects of written and oral communication. Prior to her work in academia, she spent 10 years in New York City working as an SLP and hosting a Brooklyn cable television show. In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog, and practicing her almost-lost-but-not-forgotten skills of speaking French, playing the piano, and walking on her hands.
