Dual Enrollment Requirements
The Auburn First program allows high schools an opportunity to advance their students’ academic careers by taking official Auburn University online courses to earn both Auburn University and high school credit at the same time.
Any high school student can participate in Auburn First. To receive high school credit, Auburn University must have a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the student’s high school. High schools interested in the Auburn First program can email Dr. Ruthanna Spiers, Director of University Advising, at blakerl@auburn.edu to request more information.
To participate, students must have a minimum 20 ACT (or SAT equivalent) and a minimum 3.0 high school GPA.
Official test scores and transcripts must be submitted along with each student’s application. Students are required to send a letter of support from their high school principal/counselor assessing their readiness for college work. Admissions decisions are made on an individual basis.
Students who successfully complete 12 credit hours of approved coursework (designated by Auburn University) and maintain a 3.0 ungapped Auburn GPA will be considered for automatic admission to the university. Students must still apply to the university by the institution’s official admissions deadlines. Coursework must be earned at the time of application.
