Timeless Traditions

From screaming fans inside Jordan-Hare Stadium and the Auburn Arena to the majestic flight of the eagle before each home football game, our traditions are consistently voted the best in college sports. An iconic Auburn location, Toomer’s Corner marks the heart of town and is home to the time-honored tradition of rolling the oaks at Toomer’s Corner after an Auburn victory.

Central Location

Auburn is centrally located in the Southeast and is easily accessible via interstate highway or by air. The city is just a 90-minute drive from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport which offers regular flights to North and South America, Central America, Europe, Africa and Asia. There’s plenty to do and see in Auburn, but many other leading Southeastern destinations are within driving distance.

Take a drive down South College and a budding arts district greets you. On one side sits the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Arts, the only accredited university art museum in Alabama. The Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center, East Alabama’s premier performing arts venue, sits on the other. Opening spring 2022 and situated adjacent to Samford Hall, the Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center will be America’s only 5-star, 5-diamond training hotel housing a spa, restaurant, rooftop garden, and more.

Auburn has made a name for itself in the food scene with Southern Living recently calling it a “culinary powerhouse.” The number of restaurants has tripled in the past few years and several local chefs have been named James Beard Award nominees and semifinalists. From casual fare to fine dining, the more than 200 dining offerings in the area are regularly featured in Southern Living, Gourmet, Garden & Gun, and Wine Spectator, to name a few.

Auburn City Schools are consistently ranked among the top in the state and offer an award-winning K-12 system with nearly 9,000 students. Several local providers offer year-round childcare for infants to 5-year-olds. University employees have registration priority at Big Blue Marble Academy, a childcare facility for ages six weeks to five years.
