Diploma Info and Application

Diploma Application

All graduating students must fill out a diploma application. Enrollment in UNIV 4AA0 is required to gain access to the application. The following directions will assist you in completing your application:

  • Log in to AU Access
  • Click on My Academics
  • Click on Student Menu
  • Click on Diploma Application
  • Fill out the application and click Submit
  • Click Return to Edit Page (if needed) to make any changes and click Submit again if changes were made
  • Click Finish

Note: If the diploma name you enter on your diploma application does not match the name listed on your academic record in Banner, you must provide the Graduation Section of the Office of the Registrar with a copy of the official document (marriage license, divorce decree, driver’s license, passport) that indicates the name change.

Diploma Shipping

  • Diplomas and a supplemental letter with a miniature diploma will be mailed to students about 6-8 weeks after the Spring and Summer commencement ceremonies and about 8-10 weeks after the Fall commencement ceremony (due to the holiday schedule).
    • Diplomas are ordered after the degree audit is complete.
    • The degree audit occurs after the commencement ceremony.
  • Diplomas are shipped by the United States Postal Service.
  • A domestic address is recommended for better delivery success. Tracking numbers are not available for international shipment.
  • An email will be sent to the student’s Auburn University email address once the diploma ships.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to provide a sufficient/relevant address on their Diploma Application for the time of shipment.
  • Diplomas will not be ordered for any graduate with a hold on their record, including the AT Hold. Please visit the Graduation Holds page for additional information.

Returned Diplomas

  • If a diploma is returned after an attempted delivery, a notification will be sent to the student’s Auburn University email address.
  • Returned diplomas will be held for one year after the student’s graduation date.
  • Diplomas not claimed after one year will be shredded and result in the graduate requesting a replacement diploma.

Diploma Format

  • Diplomas are 17” (wide) by 13” (high).
  • Minors are not printed on the diplomas.
    • Minors are printed on the transcript only.
  • Auburn University’s records will reflect one official graduation date for each term which will appear on diplomas and transcripts.
  • The date that a student attends a commencement ceremony may not necessarily be the official graduation date for that term since there are multiple ceremonies sometimes over multiple days.
