The Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Auburn University serves as the chief academic officer and leads the university’s academic and outreach units. Supporting Auburn’s land-grant mission, the Provost’s Office is committed to advancing initiatives designed to increase student retention and graduation, promote active and engaged learning, and support faculty and student success. Under the leadership of Dr. Chase Bringardner, the Office of Academic Affairs champions academic excellence and innovation across Auburn University. Working collaboratively with colleges and support units, the office advances high-quality undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs that prepare students for lifelong success. Under the leadership of Dr. Angela Wiley, the Office of Faculty Affairs advances Auburn’s commitment to faculty excellence by supporting recruitment, development, and career success. The office oversees faculty policies and processes related to hiring, promotion, and professional growth while fostering an environment where teaching, research, and service thrive. Through initiatives emphasizing mentorship, leadership, and scholarly advancement, Faculty Affairs empowers Auburn’s faculty to achieve excellence in every dimension of their work.

The Office of Budget and Human Resources, directed by Amanda Malone, manages fiscal operations for the Office of the Provost, including budget development and financial oversight for academic colleges, programs, and related units.

Institutional Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness upholds Auburn University’s standards of quality and accountability through continuous improvement, assessment, and accreditation. In addition to overseeing accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the office’s units—Academic Insight, Institutional Research, and Information Technology—ensure compliance, document student achievement, and guide university-wide planning efforts that strengthen academic and research outcomes.

Academic Operations, Facilities & Initiatives

Under the leadership of Julie Huff, the Office of Academic Operations, Facilities, and Initiatives manages academic space operations and supports strategic communications and marketing for more than 20 academic units and programs. The office also coordinates major academic initiatives and events—such as faculty and staff recognition programs and commencement ceremonies—while working closely with campus partners to advance Auburn’s mission.

University Outreach

Overseen by Dr. Royrickers Cook, University Outreach extends Auburn’s impact beyond campus through programs such as the Center for Educational Outreach and Engagement, the Government and Economic Development Institute, the Office of Professional and Continuing Education, the Encyclopedia of Alabama, the Office of Public Service, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and the Office of Faculty Engagement and Outreach Global—connecting research, teaching, and service to communities across Alabama and beyond.
