Myth 1

Myth 1

Was there ever something you wanted to achieve, but, no matter how hard you tried, practiced, asked for assistance, or studied, you still could not do it? It happens to most of us at some time in our life. If we keep trying and trying and trying and keep failing, we begin to doubt ourselves and question our value. This isn’t about not trying to stretch or get out of our comfort zone, but sometimes we need to know recognize our strengths and lean into them instead of trying to teach a fish to climb a tree or an elephant to fly.

Myth 2

Myth 2

When we look at our grades from a professor, debrief an event at work, or reflect on a personal situation, we tend to go straight to what went wrong. We don’t celebrate the ’A’ we made; rather, look first at the few points taken off. Fixing weaknesses doesn’t make us successful; it just helps us avoid failure.

Myth 3

There’s a big distance between failure and success. It is not black and white; there’s a lot of gradations of gray in between.
