Auburn Online, a unit of the Office of the Provost, provides value-added services to help colleagues create, deliver, evaluate, and support innovative online learning experiences that are engaging, high-quality, and demand-driven.
Together with Dr. David Martin and Dr. Dave Ketchen, Auburn Online will build a financial literacy course that brings valuable learning for student-athletes around the country.
Well-designed courses encourage learners to engage and persist. Auburn Online uses relevant learning theory to thoughtfully design courses and learning environments in the learning management system (LMS) to deliver courses that allow the student to easily identify critical course components such as learning objectives, tasks, and course material.
The images above are design layout examples from three courses Auburn Online has developed.
Interactive elements reinforce learning. Online courses typically utilize passive pedagogy, and Auburn Online changes that. Instead of long lecture videos, students demonstrate their learning of key concepts through interactive learning objects with immediate feedback.
