Supporting Internal Departments.
Challenge
Non-academic units across campus have a need to develop engaging training material to ensure Auburn faculty, staff, and students have access to high-quality professional development.
Objective
Lend learning design expertise to campus units to develop more engaging professional development content. Create opportunities for faculty to engage with creative learning experiences that inspire them to revisit their own teaching.
Solution
Auburn Online has partnered with several administrative units to develop unique learning experiences that transform lecture-only text slide decks
Details
Auburn Online worked with Human Resources to develop the Search Committee Training. Text-based documents were re-designed and transformed into interactive videos with “choose your own adventure” branching scenarios. Participants work through different situations and learn about the implications of their decisions. Participants remain engaged in the course, and the core learning objectives are achieved in an asynchronous short learning experience delivered using the familiar Canvas learning management system (LMS).
For Student Organization Leadership and Advisor training, Auburn Online worked with Office of Student Involvement to create an interactive training program, explaining the role of a student organization, the executive committee and the advisor. Participants navigate through real-world scenarios through interactive exercises. The content of the half-day training was analyzed and redesigned into a more engaging, asynchronous delivery that utilizes the familiar Canvas LMS.
