Workable Teamwork.

Challenge

As important as team work is for efficiency and creativity, it becomes particularly challenging for online programs. With students living in different time zones and working different schedules, collaboration becomes inconvenient. Further, lack of an appropriate platform that incorporates student needs makes it more difficult.

Objective

Provide online students an opportunity to work together in teams while providing them flexibility of schedules.

Solution

Auburn Online, taking into account the needs of different courses evaluated and utilized various appropriate platforms where online students can discuss and work effectively in teams.

Details

Every course has a different requirement for group projects and team work. Auburn Online recommends the optimum option of working in groups only after looking at the requirements and talking to instructors.

For BIOL 1023, students are required to submit a research project and a video presentation. This project has to be done in groups. Auburn Online developed a template and provided a platform where students can work on the poster. Further, students were given an opportunity to record video presentations where they had the option of being flexible. In addition, students were able to see the work of their fellows in the Virtual Poster Hall.

For ACCT 3313, the students were able to work together using VoiceThread which enabled them to record Group Video Discussions. Similarly, for MKTG 4403, Auburn Online developed support pages for group paper and presentations.
