Did you transfer to Auburn from an Alabama Community College before earning your associate degree?

You may be eligible to complete it through Reverse Transfer, a process by which students have their Auburn credits transferred back to their Alabama Community College to complete an associate's degree.

Students who transferred to Auburn before completing their associate's and have completed at least 15 credit hours at an Alabama Community College are eligible. It will be up to the community college to determine if the student has met all requirements for a completed associate's degree.

Current Auburn students can use this form to provide consent to share their academic record between Auburn and their two-year institution.

  • Students should contact their two-year institution with questions on eligibility, graduation ceremonies, fees, deadlines, etc.

  • If you have questions Auburn can help you with, please email transferhelp@auburn.edu.

Transient Information

Transient Instructions for U.S. Institutions

An Auburn student in good standing may be approved to take courses at another institution on a transient basis. To do so, you must first fill out the transient form online.

To begin, follow these steps to complete the online transient form and ensure your credits transfer smoothly.

  1. To access the online transient form you will need to first log into AUAccess.

  2. Go to the “My Academics” tab.

  3. Under “Registration and Advising” in the lower left, choose Transient Enrollment for Auburn Students at Other Institutions”.

  4. Read the Transient Enrollment Guidelines carefully. The online form may not be appropriate for every situation.

  5. Choose the term, state, and institution you wish to take courses as a transient student. Search for the courses you wish to take.

  6. When the correct courses are listed, click Proceed to Transient Form” to produce and print the form. A copy will be emailed to you and to your advisor. ***If you have issues printing, you may need to try a different browser or adjust your print settings.***

  7. Email, mail or hand deliver the form to the institution you plan to attend.

After completion of transient course, it’s the student’s responsibility to request that a transcript be sent back to Auburn University.

  • When ordering your transcript, be sure to select Auburn University – Registrar (Undergraduate Continuing Students) to ensure the transcript is received by the Auburn Registrar’s Office and not the AU admissions team since you are a current AU student who has already completed or started coursework.

    • If this option is not available, you can also send the transcripts to transfer@auburn.edu or physically mail to:

      • The Office of the Registrar
        Langdon Hall
        152 S. College Street
        Auburn, AL 36849

If the course you wish to take is not listed on the online transient form, you will need to see your advisor. The respective college/school within the University can issue a Transient Student Form”. The dean or advisor indicates the courses approved to be taken elsewhere.
