PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS AND APPLICATION
High school students interested in dual enrollment are eligible to participate in Auburn First beginning the summer semester after their 10th grade year with a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 and a digital Letter of Support from a school counselor or principal.
After meeting with their high school counselor, complete an application on our website. Inside the application, students will send an automated request directly to their counselor for their required application materials (a digital Letter of Support and an official transcript including at least their first semester of 10th grade). A $50 application fee is also required to consider their application complete (waivers available to those who qualify).
Once all application requirements are submitted, it will take up to 2 weeks to fully process their application. Students will receive a “Next Steps” email once their acceptance is official. You can view the entire timeline on the application page.
Out-of-state and non-resident students are welcome to participate in Auburn First to earn dual credit if your school has an agreement or earn Auburn credit only.
Certain program benefits, such as automatic admission, are unavailable to non-residents. See Program Details for more information.

Students attending a school in the Fulton County School System (GA) may check Program Details to determine their eligibility.
PROGRESSING TO UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT STATUS
University Admissions considers the difficulty of your courses, including dual enrollment classes in the review process when evaluating academic rigor. More information can be found here.
Submitting and being approved for residency for Auburn First automatic admission does not guarantee residency at the point of freshman admissions. In order to be considered a resident for tuition purposes at Auburn University when starting fulltime, a student who has been coded non-resident by Admissions Processing due to an out-of-state address, test score or transcript at any point in their academic career, must submit a residency appeal packet.
