We are excited your student is considering Auburn First! We want you to feel comfortable with your student’s decision to begin taking college coursework. Here are some recommendations to help. If you have questions, please visit our FAQ page.
Talk to your student and ensure they understand the implications of taking college courses. They are pressing start on their college transcript and grade point average. Once these grades are earned, they are a permanent part of their Auburn transcript and will be calculated into their Auburn grade point average should they attend Auburn for an undergraduate degree. This can be an excellent way to get off to a strong start if your student is ready.
Talk to your student’s high school guidance counselor and possibly teachers in the subject areas in which they plan to take college courses. Ask for an honest evaluation of your student’s readiness for college-level work.
