Deleting an Existing Program/Course
The process by which programs and courses are deleted includes:
- Provost approval to begin the deletion process (for programs only)
- Submission of materials into the university’s Course Inventory Management (CIM) system
- Reviews by departmental, college and university committees, the Provost, and (if applicable) the university’s Academic Program Review Committee, the Board of Trustees, the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, and SACSCOC.
The extent to which a deletion proposal is reviewed/approved depends on the type of proposal. The table below shows the reviews (R) and approvals (A) required for the most common deletion proposals.
