US Professors of the Year

The Office of the Provost has authorized the call for nominations for AU Undergraduate Faculty from across the Auburn University campus to represent AU for consideration as U.S. Professors of the Year.

Background:

The U.S. Professors of the Year program salutes the most outstanding undergraduate instructors in the country—those who excel in teaching and positively influence the lives and careers of students. Sponsored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, it is the only national program to recognize excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring since its inception in 1981.

All undergraduate teachers in the United States, of any academic rank at any type of undergraduate institution, are eligible for the award. The awards focus attention on excellence in undergraduate teaching and provide models to which others can aspire.
Entries are judged by top U.S. educators and other active participants in education.

A maximum of three nominations will be submitted from the university.

Auburn Review and Coordination Process:

An ad hoc review group will be formed by the Teaching Effectiveness Committee to serve as reviewers of nomination packets submitted from across campus. The review committee will recommend up to three (3) nominees to be submitted as representatives of Auburn University.
