More Than a Program

At Auburn AFROTC, being a cadet means being part of something bigger. Outside of regular training, cadets have the opportunity to join organizations that build camaraderie, sharpen skills, and make the ROTC experience unforgettable.

Whether you're into competition, service, or pushing your physical limits, there's a place for you. These organizations are cadet-led and open to all members of the detachment.

Clubs & Organizations
Honor Guard
The Honor Guard represents Detachment 005 at university events, athletic games, and community ceremonies. Members learn precision drill, flag etiquette, and ceremonial procedures while serving as the public face of Auburn AFROTC. It's one of the most visible roles in the detachment.
Arnold Air Society
Arnold Air Society is a national professional honorary service organization for AFROTC cadets. Members participate in community service projects, veterans' outreach, and professional development events. AAS develops well-rounded officers who are committed to serving both their community and their country beyond the uniform.
CSOC (Cadet Special Operations Club)
The Cadet Special Warfare and Operations Club is for cadets interested in special warfare career fields and high-intensity operational training. Members participate in advanced physical training sessions, rucking, water confidence exercises, and mentorship from cadre with special operations backgrounds. CSWOC prepares cadets who want to pursue the most demanding career paths in the Air Force.
No Club? No problem.

Clubs and organizations are just one part of life at Det 005. Even if you never join one, you'll still be part of a tight-knit community from day one. The friendships you build in LLAB, during PT, and on late nights studying for classes are some of the strongest you'll make in college. Cadets look out for each other, that's our culture here.

Whether it's grabbing food after training, cheering each other on at Auburn games, or just being there when things get tough, the detachment becomes a second family. The shared experience of working toward something bigger than yourself has a way of bringing people together. You'll leave Auburn with a degree and a commission, but the bonds you make at Det 005 are what you'll carry for the rest of your life.
