Welcome to Detachment (Det) 005, Auburn University’s Air Force ROTC unit! Det 005 was recently championed as a Top 10% detachment in the nation. We pride ourselves in producing excellent leaders of character, officers with technical degrees, aviation officers, and academically superior officers of aptitude. With a cadet wing of approximately 200 dedicated and motivated individuals, Det 005 offers a unique blend of academic excellence, leadership development, and physical fitness training.
At Det 005, our goal is to develop quality leaders for the Air Force and Space Force by preparing cadets to meet the challenges of military life and beyond. We emphasize the Air Force core values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. Our cadets engage in rigorous academic courses, leadership labs, and physical training to prepare for their roles as future officers.
