Minutes of the Steering Committee Meeting
October 19, 2006

Attended by: Rich Penaskovic, John Heilman, Kathryn Flynn, Jim Bradley, Roger Garrison, David Cicci, Conner Bailey (non-voting guest)

The minutes of August 24 were approved without change.  The minutes of Sept. 21 were approved with one change: The second sentence in the first paragraph was changed from “was probably not going to be adopted “ to “policy would not be adopted immediately.”

Kathryn Flynn mentioned that Ann Beth Presley is in Atlanta, Gary Martin is in New Jersey and Jack DeRuiter is teaching this afternoon. 

Agenda Items for November Senate Meeting

1. Calendar and Schedules Committee has to get approval for changes in the Summer 2007 Calendar.  Stan Reeves has class so this item needs to be first on the agenda.  John Heilman requested that after the changes are approved he be provided with a copy of the calendar so he can provide it to the Board.
2. Comments by Rich Penaskovic
3. Comments by John Heilman.  Dr. Richardson will be out of town.
4. Bob McGinnis will provide an update on the Capital Campaign.
5. Post-Tenure Review.  Dr. Heilman said he should have a final draft to distribute in the near future and this should be on the agenda as a discussion item at the next scheduled Senate meeting.  John Heilman said the schedule for the field test will be set up by the end of Calendar 2006.

The remainder of the meeting involved a line-by-line discussion of the most recent Post-Tenure Review draft.
