Greg Schmidt

Greg Schmidt is the Head of Auburn University Libraries Special Collections and Archives Department. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Auburn with an additional MLIS degree from The University of Alabama. Greg began at Auburn University Libraries as staff in 1992, working in binding and book conservation. After receiving his MLIS in 2007, he began his faculty position as Rare Books Librarian in Special Collections. In 2020, he became the head of the department.

As an Auburn alumnus and parent of two Auburn graduates, Greg has a keen interest in Auburn history and the stories/legends of the institution.
