Dress Code
Employees are an important representation of Auburn University and contribute to the image and reputation of the institution in the way they present themselves.
Auburn encourages good hygiene and appropriate dress to reflect pride and inspire confidence. The university does not have a one-size fits all dress code. However, employees are expected to dress appropriately for their employment duties and responsibilities.
Individual departments may set specific and detailed attire expectations according to the type of work performed to keep employees safe and ensure professional standards.
Smoke Free Campus and Workplace
In recognition of environmental tobacco-smoke and nicotine-related health risks, Auburn University intends to provide a smoke/vape free environment for its faculty, staff, students, and visitors. This policy applies to all students, faculty, staff, consultants, contractors, and visitors.
Drug Free Campus and Workplace
Auburn University is committed to creating an environment that encourages personal responsibility and intellectual growth. The Drug-Free Campus and Workplace Policy applies to all members of the Auburn University community and works in conjunction with other university policies to ensure a healthy and safe working and learning environment.

The Employee Resource Guide was developed specifically for University Staff and Administrative & Professional (A&P) employees of Auburn University. Faculty members are also encouraged to reference the Faculty Handbook, as it includes policies and procedures that uniquely pertain to Faculty.
If there is a conflict, University Policies supersede the Employee Resource Guide or any previous employee handbooks.
