As Auburn continues to grow, so do the needs of our workforce. UHR is committed to strengthening the systems and processes that support employees across campus.
Several recent and current initiatives demonstrate our dedication to accuracy, transparency, security, and compliance. Together, these efforts help ensure that our HR infrastructure remains strong, adaptable, and aligned with the university’s long‑term goals.
Job and Position Descriptions

The JDXpert project marked a major step forward in how Auburn manages job descriptions and position data.
- In the past, job information was stored across multiple systems and formats, making it difficult to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Now, JDXpert makes it easier for departments to update job duties, keep roles aligned with Auburn’s needs, and maintain clear records for hiring, pay, and compliance. The system also gives supervisors and HR partners a shared view of job information, reducing confusion and helping ensure each position is described accurately.
By modernizing this core part of HR, Auburn is able to recruit more effectively, support employee career growth, and stay compliant with federal and state regulations.
Employment and Income Verifications
Last year, Auburn strengthened the protection of employee information by partnering with Experian for employment and income verifications.
These verifications are often required when applying for a mortgage or loan, renting an apartment, establishing credit, or completing a background check. Through Experian Verify, employees can have their employment and income confirmed instantly, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Requestors and employees can visit Experian’s website to create an account and access a report. All verifications are completed online, making the process faster and more secure.
Experian also performs regular compliance checks and scans for potential risks. Multiple layers of protection help keep employee data safe.
Tax Compliance Dashboard
In January 2025, UHR and campus partners launched a new Tax Compliance Qlik dashboard that provides early visibility into foreign national hires and helps the university monitor this highly regulated group of employees. The dashboard allows Tax Compliance to track these employees from the start of the hiring process, creating a centralized, data‑driven system that supports compliance needs early.
To improve communication, automated notifications were updated by adding a Timekeeper field in our applicant tracking system. This allows departments to select their timekeeper so they receive alerts when hiring proposals are created and as they move through key workflow stages. This ensures that those responsible for payroll and compliance stay informed in real time.
Together, the dashboard and notification updates strengthen Auburn’s ability to manage risk and remain compliant when hiring foreign nationals, while improving transparency, coordination, and timely communication across Tax Compliance, HR, and campus departments.
Other Efforts
Other initiatives planned for 2026 will strengthen Auburn’s administrative infrastructure and improve the experience of employees and supervisors.
iCIMS
In March, Auburn University launched iCIMS, a cloud‑based talent acquisition platform that is transforming how the university recruits, connects with, and grows talent. This new system will replace PeopleAdmin and create a smoother, more transparent, and more efficient hiring experience for applicants and supervisors.
Benefits for Applicants
- Simpler applications: A more intuitive system makes applying faster and easier.
- Improved communication: Applicants receive several forms of communication throughout the hiring process.
- Mobile‑friendly: The platform works seamlessly on phones and tablets.
- Internal opportunities: Current employees can use Auburn’s new internal job board to explore roles reserved for internal candidates.
ADP
Auburn University is partnering with ADP to improve how payroll tax responsibilities are managed for employees.
ADP will support federal, state, and local tax administration, including W‑2 processing. The partnership also covers the handling of wage garnishments, court orders, such as child support, and tax levies. These changes are designed to improve accuracy and consistency and to support employees who depend on timely, compliant payroll services.
By centralizing these complex processes, the Payroll team will be better equipped to support Auburn’s workforce.
UKG
Auburn is also preparing to transition Kronos to UKG’s cloud‑based timekeeping platform. This modernization will streamline processes and deliver an enhanced, mobile‑friendly experience for all employees.
The new cloud-based system will make time entry easier and more reliable, and allow employees to access it more easily. This change will help Auburn better support employees with modern, easy-to-use tools.
