Blayne Weddington

Blayne Weddington is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Education at Auburn University where she is serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Auburn University Bands.
Before arriving at Auburn, Blayne graduated in May 2024 from Ohio University in Athens, OH with a master's degree in music education with certificates in conducting and musical leadership. During her time at Ohio University, she served as a Graduate Associate of Bands where she was an assistant conductor for the university bands including, The Marching 110, Varsity Basketball Band, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and University Concert Band. She had the privilege of conducting The Marching 110 and Wind Symphony overseas in London, England at the 2024 London Band Week. Blayne also received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Ohio University in 2016 with honors.
In between her time at Ohio University, Blayne taught for five years in the Greenfield Exempted Village School District in Greenfield, OH. She taught all band grades 6-12 at McClain High School and Greenfield Middle School. During her tenure, she doubled the size of the band department and brought home superior and excellent ratings at Ohio Music Education Association Adjudicated events for the first time since 2012.
A Northwestern Ohio native, Blayne is a member of the National Association of Music Educators, Ohio Music Education Association, College Band Directors National Association, and Tau Beta Sigma National Band Service Sorority. Blayne and her husband Jared are thrilled to be a part of the Auburn University family! War Eagle!
