About the garden

Atop the Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center adjacent to Ag Hill on the Auburn campus, is an edible rooftop garden operated by Department of Horticulture faculty, staff and students. The garden provides unparalleled, transformational student experiences in urban horticulture and design.

The facility

Adjacent to Ag Hill on the Auburn campus lies an entirely edible rooftop garden operated by Department of Horticulture faculty, staff and students. The roof of the Rane Center — called the Walt and Ginger Woltosz Rooftop Terrace — offers a panoramic view of the Auburn campus, including Samford Hall and, in the not-so-far distance, Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The garden provides produce for the 1856-Culinary Residence on the first floor of the Rane Center and for the evening rooftop lounge menu.

The Woltosz Rooftop Terrace is open to the public 3-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 3 p.m.-midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
