The E.W. Shell Fisheries Center is home to cutting-edge research in fish nutrition, genetics, health management and production systems. Faculty and students develop new technologies and practices that improve the sustainability and productivity of global aquaculture.

Our facilities
Set across 1,600 acres north of campus, the E.W. Shell Fisheries Center is home to constructed experimental ponds and natural aquatic habitats supporting research, education and outreach conducted by the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences at Auburn University. The administration and education building offers multipurpose learning spaces, from classrooms and laboratories to a hatchery and facilities for sorting, weighing and counting fish.
