Driving aquaculture research and sustainable food production

The E.W. Shell Fisheries Center, part of the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences in Auburn’s College of Agriculture, is among the most comprehensive research and teaching facilities of its kind in the world. Located on more than 1,600 acres, the center provides the space, infrastructure and expertise to advance aquaculture science and educate future leaders in the field.

Our facilities

Set across 1,600 acres north of campus, the E.W. Shell Fisheries Center is home to constructed experimental ponds and natural aquatic habitats supporting research, education and outreach conducted by the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences at Auburn University. The administration and education building offers multipurpose learning spaces, from classrooms and laboratories to a hatchery and facilities for sorting, weighing and counting fish.
