Our team offers the following services to help faculty prepare and submit their grant proposals:

  • Assistance in developing strong research proposals.
  • Assistance with proposal, pre-proposal or Letter of Intent submissions.
  • Reviewing of budget and proposal documents for compliance with sponsor and institutional policies.
  • Creation of proposal application workspaces and filling out forms upon request.
  • Routing of Endeavor funding proposals (EFPs) to obtain institutional approvals for submission.
  • Coordination and obtaining of signatures from AU authorized representatives/OSPs (including letters of collaboration or other forms).
  • Submission to the sponsor on behalf of Auburn University.

  • Assistance in finding research opportunities.
  • Development of proposal checklists specific to agency solicitation.
  • Creation of proposal preparation timelines and processes.
  • Creation of proposal narrative templates with subheads to alert reviewers to sections they are seeking.
  • Assistance with writing of non-technical text and transitions. (Initial development of proposal content/narrative is the responsibility of the principal investigator.)
  • Development of clear, compelling "storylines" or gap analyses for proposal narratives.
  • Assistance with document control, copy editing and proofreading.
  • Assistance with assessment and outreach component needs.
  • Preparation of documents such as the data management plan, management plan, logic model and others (with assistance from the principal investigator).
  • Assistance with letters of intent and pre-proposal submissions.
  • Formatting of personnel documents such as the research team's biographical sketches, current and pending forms and conflict of interest attachments.

  • Assistance with designing experiments, analyzing data and interpreting results.
Building your team across disciplines
The crossing of academic disciplines is crucial in the building of a strong research team. As you begin building your team, Auburn offers the Subject Matter Experts tool to help identify university experts across a multitude of agricultural, engineering, health, medical and related scientific fields.

Award and post-award services

  • Assistance with questions or information needed for account/FOP setup.*
  • Service as a liaison between central offices and faculty for grant/contract account setup or award modifications.
  • Reviewing of budget modifications and processing of documentation to the Office of Sponsored Programs.
  • Assistance with no-cost extensions (NCE) requests.
  • Processing of award modifications to the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) if applicable.

*Project management and post-award activities will be handled at the departmental level in collaboration with the College of Agriculture's business office. Please work with your department administrator for specific details about their processes.

Access a variety of funding opportunities and resources from commodity groups and related organizations. These are groups looking to invest in scientific solutions to real-world challenges faced by specific sectors of the agricultural industry.
