Hargis Hall History

Hargis Hall, one of Auburn University's most historic and architecturally distinctive buildings, is home to the Graduate School. Constructed in 1888, it predates the iconic Samford Hall by just a few months and was originally built to house the chemistry department.

Auburn University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, specialist and doctoral degrees. Questions about accreditation may be directed to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
