The Williams Graduate Fellowship has been established through the Auburn University Foundation by Colonel (ret.) Garland H. Williams and Kathleen P. Williams. The Graduate School may award up to four Williams Fellowships annually in the amount of $1,000 each. Selection is based on an academic and professional promise.

Must be a currently enrolled degree-seeking Auburn University graduate student;

Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;

Preference is given to students with a financial need as verified by the Office of Financial Aid. However, if a student with financial need cannot be identified, then the financial need criterion may be waived.

Preference will be given to military veterans who have served a minimum of four years on active duty and received an honorable discharge.
Note: Prior recipients are not disqualified from consideration for this fellowship during subsequent years.

Faculty nominations should include the following:

Letter of nomination;

The nominee’s resume or vita;

DD214 form;
-
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
The annual deadline for nomination submission is September 15. If this date falls over a weekend or holiday, submissions are due by 8:00 am CT on the next business day.
Awardees will be notified by email and will be recognized at the spring Graduate Awards ceremony.
