The Graduate School partners with the Auburn University Libraries and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development to recognize Auburn employees who have published a book-length scholarly work in the previous calendar year. Eligible graduate faculty and staff will be recognized in an annual spring semester ceremony.

Eligibility Criteria

row2

Published scholarly works of sufficient scope will be eligible for consideration. The following list, although not all-inclusive, illustrates the kinds of works that may be nominated: the first publication of books, monographs, creative works (novels, poetry collections, dramas), translations,* textbooks, and edited collections. Scholarly works published in other formats (e.g., electronic) but similar in scope to the above book-length works may be nominated. The following kinds of publications are excluded: occasional publications (e.g., brochures and pamphlets), re-printings of a book, translations,* subsequent editions of a previously published book.

Works must be published (copyright date) between January 1 and December 31 of the previous calendar year before the annual nomination deadline of March 1. If the submission date falls over a weekend or holiday, nominations are accepted until 8:00 am CT on the next business day. The Graduate School will review submitted materials and determine eligibility.

*If an Auburn author is the translator, the book-length translation may be eligible; if, however, an Auburn author’s work is translated into another language by someone other than the author, the translation is excluded.
