Driving Innovation in Southern Nursery Production Since 1972
For over 50 years, the Nursery Cooperative has been at the forefront of advancing southern pine seedling production. Born out of a need to solve urgent pest and disease challenges, we united nursery leaders from industry, state agencies, and the U.S. Forest Service to pioneer practical, science-backed solutions.
Our early breakthroughs in weed and disease control set the stage for decades of impact. In the 1980s, we expanded our focus to seedling quality—proving that size, health, and fertility directly influence reforestation success. Today, our research continues to shape best practices in pest management, seedling performance, hardwood culture, and sustainable nursery operations.
We’re not just generating knowledge—we’re delivering it. Through timely reports, field visits, newsletters, and annual meetings, our members stay ahead of the curve. And as the voice of the southern nursery community, we actively engage with the EPA and USDA to ensure smart, science-informed policy.
