Auburn University's Electronic Research Administration (eRA) unit plays a key role in facilitating the university's research and compliance . Auburn’s eRA system, Endeavor, manages all proposal development, submissions, approvals and awards related to Auburn’s sponsored projects. Endeavor also houses Faculty consulting preapproval requests and of interest (COI) disclosure forms. Compliance protocols for the Human Participant Protection Program/Institutional Review Board (IRB); the Biological Safety Program/Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC); and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) are created, submitted, reviewed, approved and managed in the Endeavor software suite. Having all the data and tasks related to research administration and compliance housed in one system, streamlines processes and improves efficiency. Endeavor is a valuable tool, enhancing an administrator's ability to manage proposals and awards while simultaneously providing department administrators and faculty greater transparency into the proposal and award stages of projects and associated compliance processes. Currently, the system is being implemented across the university, with completion scheduled by spring 2026.
