Research at Auburn University encompasses a wide variety of projects spread across our 12 colleges, with opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty. The Office of the Senior Vice President of Research and Economic Development (OSVPRED) oversees all research activities at the university as well as all Research Administration offices.

Office of Proposal Services and Faculty Support (PSFS)

The Office of Proposal Services and Faculty Support (PSFS) assists in proposal development for large, interdisciplinary research projects, scholarly and creative programs. It also oversees training and education programs like COMPASS and manages Auburn's funding database, Pivot. The office also assists with implementing team science events, the research support program and the creative work and social impact scholarship program, and other research support experiences.

Office of Research Integrity and Compliance (ORIC)

The Office of Research Integrity and Compliance (ORIC) is responsible for monitoring and guiding Auburn Research projects to ensure they meet all legal and ethical standards and regulations. In particular, ORIC provides oversight of the usage of animal and human test subjects, clinical practices and potential financial conflicts of interest.

Electronic Research Administration (eRA)

Through its Endeavor software, the Electronic Research Administration (eRA) helps research administrators manage proposals and awards. The system provides electronic tools for creating and submitting proposals and allows transparent tracking of the workflow, review and approval of those proposals.

The Intellectual Property (IP) Exchange (IPX) provides expertise and guidance on intellectual property rights, such as patents, copyrights and licensing agreements between the University and companies seeking to monetize research development and innovations.

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) manages all non-financial matters related to externally sponsored grants and contracts awarded to Auburn University.

Contracts and Grants Accounting (CGA)

The Contracts and Grants Accounting (CGA) office is responsible for all post-award functions involving sponsored research, instruction and other activities. CGA supports the university's research mission by ensuring compliance with federal regulations, state law and university policies and procedures.

The Office of Research Security Compliance (ORS) oversees Auburn's Export Control Program. This means the office provides guidance and aid with issues related to the transfer of data, items, finances and services outside the United States.

Organizing campus visits for potential partners and managing the Research Advisory Board amongst other activities, the Office of External Engagement and Support (EES) facilitates relationships between Auburn researchers and the public and private sectors, as well as philanthropic organizations.
