The Phils are men who support the mission of the Women’s Philanthropy Board. The name “Phils,” represents men who believe in the importance of Philanthropy and financial sustainability and provide philanthropic gifts to support the work of the WPB. Phils are husbands, fathers, uncles, sons, and friends who are dedicated to empowering the women in their lives to become educated and enabled in financial and philanthropic matters. Phils represent men from a variety of backgrounds and experiences in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

How do The Phils & WPB benefit me and others?

The WPB is committed to educating individuals on the many facets of financial responsibility such as financial planning, investments, estate planning, global economics, taxes, caregiving, healthcare, leadership, mentoring, strategic philanthropy, and other topics to enhance economic and human well-being. Throughout the course of an academic year, the WPB hosts several educational programs featuring national level speakers. In addition, WPB sponsors a variety of roundtable and networking series to round out a full year of inspiring, informative programs.

The WPB demonstrates a commitment to philanthropy by awarding student scholarships, faculty awards, and programmatic grants in support of the College of Human Sciences.

By becoming a donor to the CHS Women’s Philanthropy Board, you will join a group of dynamic individuals committed to supporting CHS in its instructional, research, outreach and international initiatives, and who want to:

Collaborate with other individuals to meet collective goals
Connect with individuals of all ages to develop professional networks and personal friendships
Create opportunities to develop and recognize leaders and role models
Change lives through education, leadership and philanthropy

How can I become a Phil?

Phil Srs. pledge a minimum of $5,000 per year for five years for a $25,000 total pledge.
Phils pledge a minimum of $1,000 per year for five years for a $5,000 total pledge.
Phil Jrs. (available for men age 30 and younger) pledge a minimum of $500 per year for five years for a $2,500 total.

The Cary Center Women’s Philanthropy Board and The Phils are composed of alumni, faculty, and friends from all over the country. Donations are made through the Auburn University Foundation and are tax deductible.
