Our program will prepare you to teach secondary level (grades 6-12) mathematics. You will get to work with outstanding faculty to earn a mathematics degree along with your education degree and become a certified mathematics teacher. Our Ph.D. program prepares you to be an expert in the field of mathematics education. With a Ph.D., you can teach at the university level, serve as a district supervisor, or take on various leadership roles. Through coursework and mentorship, you’ll expand your knowledge, and interpret and expand upon existing research. You’ll finish your degree with individual research that results in a dissertation.

Ph.D. programs are not part of the Auburn University approved Educator Preparation Programs. The state of Alabama does not have certification/license at this level and therefore this degree is not eligible for reciprocity in other states.
