Yasmine Adamali Urquia

Yasmine's interest in helping others started during her volunteering years while studying her undergraduate degree in Nutrition at the National Autonomous University of Honduras. It was enhanced throughout her dietetic internship where she gained expertise on assessing and addressing the nutritional needs of patients with different pathologies. Additionally, in her community nutrition internship with World Vision, she developed skills in needs assessment and program planning, effectively delivering nutrition education and outreach initiatives to indigenous communities of Honduras.

After finishing her undergraduate studies she experienced the need to prepare herself to be a design thinking leader to help tackle global issues such as food insecurity, hunger, and poverty. She decided to study for her master's on Development Practice at Auburn University and currently she is working at the Hunger Solutions Institute (HSI) as a Graduate Research Assistant. At HSI, she is responsible for doing monthly reports and data analysis for the Healthy Fluid Milk Incentives program, which is part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Throughout her experience at HSI she has developed strong analytical and research skills, data cleaning experience, and the ability to think critically when approaching problems.
