CHS to Play a Key Role in Auburn's Hunger Awareness Week



The College of Human Sciences will play a key role in Auburn University's Hunger Awareness Week. The week, led by Universities Fighting World Hunger and the Student Government Association, will include events hosted by organizations around campus to spread awareness and help end hunger-related issues. Find a schedule below for events from Oct. 19 to 23 leading up to the annual Beat Bama Food Drive.

Monday – 19th

Auburn Cares and Hunger Solutions are sponsoring trivia competitions via FreeRice.com.

Tuesday – 20th
A Place at the Table virtual documentary screening
5:30-7:30 pm
UFWH | Auburn will host a screening of a documentary on domestic hunger with Roger Thurow moderating, providing commentary, and answering audience questions.

Wednesday – 21st
Part one:
AUHx (Auburn University Hunger x)

CHS Schools Council will post a prerecorded TEDx-style video with three speakers from College of Human Sciences.
Part two:
Nutrition Is Key virtual cooking class
6:30-8pm
SGA will host a virtual cooking class.

Thursday – 22nd
Passing It Forward
Campus Kitchens will host a week-long nonperishable food donation drive and amplify the push for donations on Thursday. Drop-off locations are at bus loops, Student Center, RBD Library, and SCA Atrium.

Friday – 23rd
A Lovely Day in the Neighborhood
4pm
Beat Bama Food Drive will host a food drive within the Auburn community.
