OLLI at Auburn hosting Chief Operating Officer and retired Army Lt. Gen. Ron Burgess Jan. 15

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Auburn University will host Auburn’s Chief Operating Officer and retired Army Lt. Gen. Ron Burgess on Jan. 15. Burgess will present a talk titled “The Cyber Threat and Way Ahead.” The program will be at 10 a.m. at Auburn Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, located at 712 South College St., during OLLI at Auburn’s general membership meeting. A brief informal reception will follow, and the public is invited.

Burgess retired from the Army as the 17th Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and joined Auburn University in 2012 as the Senior Counsel for National Security Programs, Cyber Programs and Military Affairs. In May 2018, he assumed the duties as the university’s executive vice president. During his distinguished 38-year career in the Army, and now at Auburn, Burgess has and continues to serve as a driving force in the U.S. Intelligence Community by providing exceptional leadership and broad strategic vision that contributes to safeguarding U.S. national security interests.
